SAFEGUARDING

The wellbeing and safety of Bright Green Future students has been our top priority since we began the programme in 2016.

Staff training

The BGF staff team are qualified in child safeguarding and first aid. We’ve all had a DBS check. You can find out more about the background and qualifications of our staff team here, including alumni mentors.

BGF staff are based at the Centre of Sustainable Energy in Bristol. The Centre for Sustainable Energy’s Safeguarding Policy is available here, and the Designated Safeguarding Officer is Ian Preston. All our events follow the BGF Safeguarding Guide (both in-person and online), and are risk assessed. If you are a parent or guardian of a BGF student and would like to view our risk assessments, please email brightgreenfuture@cse.org.uk

Onboarding

Once young people are accepted to the programme, we’ll have a welcome call with each person. Parents/guardians are very welcome to join this call as well. The welcome call is a chance  to meet a member of staff, chat through the programme and ask questions.

Nearer to the time of the residential, we’ll also have an open Question & Answer Zoom call for all students and parents/guardians.
