What’s a typical day like?

Most days are office based involving organising events, liaising with businesses about training or producing content for the website. Other days could involve meeting with new organisations, visiting a conference about the latest renewable technology or hosting a networking lunch.

 

This career would suit people with:

  • Passionate about sustainability and able to convince others why it is important

  • Interest in current affairs and government policy

What makes it a green career?

Sustainable development organisations have to stay up to date on the latest green technologies, environmental legislation and global innovations in order give businesses the opportunity to operate sustainably within the natural resources that are available.

 

What qualifications do you need?

Passion and experience is more important than a specific degree. However, a sustainability related degree would be useful to give you a grounding in the key issues of sustainability and environmental policy.

 

How much would you earn?

Starting salary approximately £16,000 – £18,000 per year.
